Abbotrack’s GPS tracking platform can monitor thousands of targets, and display their location on maps with crystal clear detail right down to street level in a web browser. It lets user to track objects in real time, directly view historical tracks and notify about events that require your immediate attention, generate various group reports and much more. Software is very simple, user friendly and designed to communicate with a wide variety of GPS devices including mobile devices. It is constantly improved and updated with new features.

How does it work?

Login to our online demo account for real time action of GPS tracking devices. This will give you a chance to have a look at how our platform works with all GPS tracking devices.

Basic requirements

You need a GPS tracking device for each object you want to track, a GPS tracking device receives position information from GPS satellites and forwards it to abbotrack’s online platform. There are also vehicle mounted GPS tracking devices, asset tracking devices and personal tracking devices that include both GPS and a mobile data module. Your GPS tracking device needs to have internet connection to send position data to abbotrack’s platform. The most common option is to use a data subscription in 2G or 3G mobile networks. Most dedicated GPS tracking devices include a mobile data module that use standard SIM cards.

How much does it cost to use this service?

Newly added GPS tracking devices can be used for 5 days FREE with our service. If you would like to continue using our service, please purchase a personal account plan from our shop or once device trial period expires.

How to start using the abbotrack’s online tracking platform service?

If you still do not have GPS device, you can buy one on eBay or from our shop. Look at our list of supported devices to find a suitable device or verify that your device is supported by abbotrack’s platform.
Android, BlackBerry, iOS and Windows Phone mobile devices can be transformed into GPS tracking device with GPS Tracker application which can be found in our Mobile Apps page.

To get started you will need to create an account on abbotrack’s platform.
Login and add your GPS tracking device IMEI number to your object list.

How to configure GPS device to connect abbotrack’s platform?

Refer to your GPS tracking device owner’s manual on how to set up your server IP and PORT. Our server IP and PORT can be found on our supported devices page.

Set up your GPS tracking device with the network providers APN settings that matches the sim card you have used in it. (If in doubt ask your sim card network provider for the correct APN settings. Check if there is a username/password needed for the APN too, as some countries use these and some don’t). Make sure that your GPS tracking device time zone is set to ‘0 UTC’. If this is not done your device will show incorrect time or won’t even work.

GPS tracking devices should always use TCP/IP connection.

Will a GPS tracking devices work inside buildings?

GPS tracking devices may not work inside the building, because of signal absence with GPS satellites. When setting these up for the first time please make sure your GPS tracking devices are outside in open sky.

Some examples are:

Vehicle tracking devices – parked outside in view of open sky
Motorbike tracking devices – parked outside in view of open sky
Smartphones – Please start this process outside after this should be ok

All the above are based on good, reliable and strong GPRS and GSM signals. Please check with network providers on what type of network coverage you will get before using sim cards in tracking devices.

How long does abbotrack’s platform keep my history?

90 days, but it is possible to save history tracks in GSR format. Later you can load them just directly from file.
