You will need a GPS tracking device or a smart phone with our GPS tracking app for each object you want to track. A GPS tracking device receives the position information from the GPS satellites and forwards it to our online GPS tracking plaform. There are also vehicle mounted GPS tracking devices, asset tracking devices and personal tracking devices that include both GPS and a mobile data module. Your GPS tracking device must have an internet connection in order to send its position data to abbotrack GPS tracking software. The most common option is to use a data subscription in 2G, 3G or 4G mobile networks. All GPS tracking devices or smart phones use mobile data SIM cards.

If you would like to continue using our service, please purchase a 1 year license for each device you wish to track within your account on our online GPS tracking software or if your GPS tracking device trial period has expired.
How to start using the our online GPS tracking software?
If you still do not have GPS tracking device, you can enquire about a full installation package provided by us or you can buy one on eBay or any other shop that sell them. IMPORTANT to make sure you look at our list of supported devices first to make sure it is supported by our software. Genuine Androids and iOS mobile devices can be transformed into a GPS tracking device with our GPS tracker application which can be found on our mobile apps page.
Click “Register GPS Account” at the top of the page to create your account in abbotrack online GPS tracking platform, more details can be found in our support section at the top of the page. Login and add the IMEI number of your GPS device and add it to your object list, more details can be found in the support section at the top.
How to configure your GPS device to connect with our GPS tracking platform?
Refer to your GPS device owner’s manual on how to set the server IP and PORT. Our server IP and PORT settings for your supported GPS device can be found on our supported devices page. You will then need to set the GPS device APN. (Ask GSM operator what APN details to use with your device SIM card. Check if there is a username/password needed for the APN too).
Make sure that your GPS device time zone is set to 0 UTC. If not it will show incorrect time or events won’t work. If you still have problems, please check some of our troubleshooting guides on our support page at the top or contact our contact us as we will be happy to help.
Will my GPS device work inside buildings?
Some GPS devices may not work inside the building, because of signal absence with GPS satellites or poor signal coverage from your chosen network provider. Its best to try and remain in the open sky for quick results when first getting your GPS device to connect to our GPS software.
